Dress maker

Rukshani is a young housewife and mother of a 2-year old child. After attending a talk by Emerging Hope Lanka, she was excited and inspired to start a micro business in tailoring. Growing up, she had acquired the skills to sew, but had no sewing machine and resources to start.

Emerging Hope Lanka funded her tailoring startup business and she received her first official order for 200 dresses for a children's school concert in Sri Lanka. Moving forward with Emerging Hope Lanka's support, she plans to reach out to local and international markets.
